What two girls can do in a day...cont'd
What a huge transformation a can of paint can make! I used Behr Flat Exterior paint in Stealth Jet. Its a brown-black that goes nicely with the tannish roof. Then we changed the light fixture to one that we had been given last year...it was bronze and we spray painted it black.
I threw a wreath on the door that I had, put the mat back and moved one of the pots I had on the back porch to the front. The stairs are still in need of refinishing and my husband is planning to build planters on either side of the stairs this weekend so I can plant some shrubs and flowers. So there's still more to do but I feel like we're off to a pretty good start!
What two girls can do in a day...
We have lived in our house for almost exactly a year and why we didn't do this when we first moved in boggles my mind. Especially since the transformation cost $20 for the the can of paint and only took a day to do. On top of all that a girlfriend and I did it while my husband was at work...so we didn't even need any brawn!
So this is what we lived with for a year...the awning is just awful...the giant bush makes the house look lopsided and the brush on the other side is the remainder of little trees we cut down in the fall. The overall effect is not so cute.
Just taking the awning down makes such a difference! I hate who whoever put it up in the first place because all of the screws holding it in place were all stripped. It was a slow process getting them out but oh it was worth it. And let me tell you how fun it was shoving that gross awning into mid air...so fun that we decided that we should probably go into the demolition business because it such a blast!

I've never been one to really put myself out there...I kind of just go with the flow and let those who are louder be heard. Not that I don't have ideas or things to say or that I don't speak up, I'm just not as loud. So this blog will be my voice on what I think, my ideas and what I'm doing or want to do. Thankyou to all of the bloggers out there that gave me the inspiration to share my mind.
